Christian Kern, CEO of ÖBB – and recently elected president of CER – attended several important meetings on his visit to Budapest on Tuesday, 29th October. The leader, as he is accustomed, arrived to the Hungarian capital by Railyet, and, as part of his program, held a consultation with the representatives of the unions (Federation of Railway Unions). The subject of the mid-term agreement was also discussed at the meeting, which was conducted in a friendly tone.
The program continued at the headquarters of Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt., where Christian Kern held a presentation in front of the leaders and key experts of the company about the current situation and future prospects of Rail Cargo Hungaria. He stated that, compared to other European rail freight companies, ÖBB is presently the most successful cargo company – in 2012 Rail Cargo Group (RCG) achieved earnings unparalleled in its history, for which result the leader thanked the company's employees.
The CEO emphasized that he is especially pleased that Rail Cargo Hungaria will provide opportunities of advancement to young talents within the framework of its internship program launching in November. However, not only the young have the option to advance: István Lakat, the director of Express Interfracht Hungaria Kft. was recently appointed as the managing director of EXIF company group headquartered in Vienna. As a closing remark of his speech, Kern stressed that he would want to achieve good results in three areas: economic indicators, as well as customer and employee satisfaction.
After the conference, the president of CER gave and exclusive interview to the representatives of the press, to whom he conveyed the message of the company group: Rail Cargo Hungaria is a successful company even after five years of its privatization.
